It had been quite a while since I'd gone on a girls' trip. Not that there's anything wrong with traveling with Anthony, but every once in a while it's nice to have a girly weekend. So off I went with Shawnelle and Hayley! ( Click! )

It's hard to believe I'll be home in less than a month! And I have so many things to do!
These are a few things I'm hoping to get done this week:

-Pack another box and mail it home
-Blog about all the trips I've been on and haven't blogged about yet
-Burn the rest of my photos to cd/dvd
-Plan my last trip!!

Sounds easy right? WRONG. I can't blog about my trips or burn my photos to dvds until I sort through all those damn photos. Each trip takes me approximately 3-4 hours to sort, upload, and blog about. Unless it's my Egypt trip which has taken me over a year and I still have something like 2000 photos to sort.
So, considering I have to blog about Spain, Italy (twice?), Paris, Spain again, and Turkey... Well. I'll try for one a day. We'll see how that goes.
And then I'll burn them all so if my computer dies I won't lose them.

My big plan for when I get home is to turn each trip into a Blurb book so I can have cool photo albums, but I'll worry about that later.

NOW, it is time for bed. I had a semi-productive day in which I sorted through and purged many items. I'm hoping I can mail one more huge box and then just carry everything else I need home in a suitcase (or two). We'll see how that goes.

Also, I intend to hike halfway up a mountain tomorrow, so I need some sleeps.

So, I've thought of it a few times before... Where would I go if I was at work and there was a zombie* attack? I thought there might be some good places hidden along the mile, but I feel like if zombies got into the mile (not too hard to do) it would only be a matter of time until they broke open every door.
I had a creepy dream last night, so this morning as I was opening the Point I was creeped out anyhow. But when I went to turn on the hot tub, it struck me that that room would be perfect to hide out from zombies!
First of all, it's warm in there. Srsly, must be warm to survive. Second, it's loud, so you could talk without having to worry about zombies hearing you. But best of all, no one would really think of going out there; the roof is covered in grass, so if you're on top of it, you don't realize it's a building. If you do go to the door, it's thick, and there are TWO of them. Also, the walls are concrete.
Pretty safe. Downside would be that there's no bathroom, and obviously you'd have to stock it with food. Also, there's no alternate exit. But there is electricity, and even a computer already in there, so there's a good start. I'm thinking four people could live in there for two months or so (until the zombies die of starvation).
Anywhere in the hotel that might be better? I think we all know that we're screwed if there's an attack and we're at the Abrams. Unless you live in the shining, maybe. =P How's the attic at the hotel? Could it be blocked off?

*By "zombies" I really mean people with the RAGE. But I guess this would work for the undead too.

I'm feeling really frustrated and stressed lately.
Mostly trying to figure out what I'm going to do when my contract is up.
Basically my options boil down to these:





Try to Extend

Pros
Living in Germany for another year
Traveling
Free housing
Don't have to buy a car

Cons
No guarantee that I'll be extended - Might not know until right before I have to leave
Anthony would have to be extended too - or I wouldn't want to stay
Working in the service industry for another year - esp. awful during the holidays
No real chance to move up
Walking to/from work in the snow and dark (2 miles!)


Go Home

Pros
Would get to spend the holidays with my family
Could probably find a (crappy) job
Would get to eat real food again!
Could save up some money and go on a trip to Australia or something

Cons
I hate Indiana
Would need to buy a car just to get to work/do anything
Would have to figure out what to do as far as where to live/work
Anthony won't live in Indiana =P


Go to Somwhere Else! (Colorado/Oregon etc.)

Pros
Would get to be with Anthony
Would live somehere cool with lots to do
Would have some stability (not have to worry about not being extended, could quit a job and not lose my residence, could start a career, etc.)
The places we're looking at moving are fairly walkable/have decent public transportation
Would be a fresh start

Cons
Would be really far away from my family/anyone I know
Would probably want a car
Would have to find a job
Would probably be really poor for a while and wouldn't be able to travel

What should i do about my FUTURE?!

I'm off to Slovenia for the weekend. I've been so busy the past few weeks I haven't gotten any photos uploaded...

Here's my checklist for things I'll have to upload when I get back:

-Croatia
-Schachen
-Slovenia (obvs. when I have photos from there)

Oh yeah, and GARMISCHER FEST starts this week. I'm missing the opening weekend and Jess's birthday party by going to Slovenia. =[
But... Don't know how many more 3-day weekends we'll have together, so I guess I should take advantage. Will still have the rest of the week to drink tons and tons of beer anyhow. =]

Srsly?

Today is obnoxious.

My Tollwood plans fell through, which wasn't a big deal since I had some errands to run, but then THOSE didn't work out, so I biked/walked all over town for no reason.
I hurt my ankle running this morning, which was just annoying at first, but now after walking around on it all day it's swollen and I can't walk without limping.
I can't get my stupid work email set up because I have to take an exam for it... Which the website won't let me take.
ARGH!
I just can't get ANYTHING accomplished today. It's driving me nuts because it's not like I'm not trying, it's just not working out!
